Our Vision
At Haute Heritage Publishing, we envision a future where fashion education is inclusive and
accessible to everyone. By sharing these stories, we aim to inspire those beyond the traditional
fashion hubs and create pathways for diverse talent to enter the industry.
Our Story
Haute Heritage Publishing was born from the desire to reshape the narrative around fashion, focusing on the diverse and rich contributions that have long been overshadowed. Founded by Shelby Ivey Christie, a Forbes 30 Under 30 and Vogue Business 100 Innovators honoree with over a decade of leadership experience at industry giants like Nike, Vogue, and L’Oréal, the company is set to redefine how fashion stories are told and who gets to tell.
Haute Heritage Publishing was also born out of a desire to address the significant barriers of entry into the fashion industry, particularly for people of color and those outside of fashion's traditional epicenter, New York City. Shelby has seen firsthand how challenging it is to navigate the industry as a minority. Her experiences, coupled with my education at an HBCU in the South, highlighted the stark geographical and racial barriers that exist in the world of fashion.
Our Mission
Our goal at Haute Heritage Publishing is to bring innovative, educational, and engaging fashion content and resources featuring diverse talent and stories to the market. We aim to highlight the contributions of diverse fashion icons and foster a new generation of fashion enthusiasts and professionals. As a Black woman who has navigated the fashion industry’s challenges, Shelby understands firsthand the barriers to entry for underrepresented groups.
"I'm thrilled to welcome you to this wonderful adventure into the world of fashion and the incredible contributions of Black and African American designers. As a designer and entrepreneur, I've had the privilege of witnessing the power of fashion. It is a force that transcends fabric and thread, weaving together stories of innovation, identity, and self-expression."
